Call to those with tinies
I'm browsing around as I am toying with the thought of turning one of my younger characters into a BJD. (He popped up while I was editing Phillipe's story.) I suck with tinies, Everytime I see a tiny (specifically a yo-sd) I love them to bits but never thought i could buy one. I would have nothing to do with it, it would sit there in default attire. So the arrival of Émile to the story is a great chance to indulge in one of my secret wants.

It will be a while before I would get him, but It's possible he will come before the Tatiana for Avylinn as I want a tiny sooooo bad. (more then a girl doll)

So I am asking those of you who own tinies is there anything I should know about them?

how easy they are to pose, prone to breakage hard to find clothes for (Émile is a little dead boy so I doubt this would be hard) and most importantly which do you think are the best and would reccommend? I am looking for a doll that looks about 6 years old.

Tinies are a new venture for me so I know very little about them, thier restrictions and such. I've only seen them irl a few times. I am of course doing my own research on DoA and the like. It's just nice to hear opinions personally too in a place that won't chastise you for your opinion.

If you're looking for yo-sd, or anything in that size range (I have a Leeke D, which I've been told is around the same size) they're fairly easy to find clothing for. My boy right now is wearing a Ken shirt, though I'm not entirely sure Ken pants would fit. I know yo clothes are really easy to find on the MP though, so I don't think you'll really have a problem with that~)

As for companies, I do think Leeke's tinies look around 5-6, but as I haven't looked at many other companies (must resist~ xD) I can't really offer much more help here. xD;

I've never had any problem with breaks or anything, even on my very small (12cm) tinies, though I usually am more careful with them. My boy poses pretty well, and isn't kicky or anything. You might have to wire him a bit to get him to hold the poses, though, unless you're patient.

I hope this helps somewhat, though I know I'm not too experienced with tinies either~ ^^;

No no! that's a great load of help. I adore Leeke's dolls so It's nice to hear that they have good tinies (It will give me an excuse to buy other things from them too!)

Everylittle bit helps for sure. Thanks so much for your reply :D

I've never had a problem with breaks, and my tinies have long elf ears (and I drag them all over the place). They also pose easier than the bigger ones in general, just need a bit of patience for the crazier poses.
I think you can make certain scuplts look 5-6, its just how you put them together. Narshas do look a bit older than other tinies, but they're 35cm, and a bit harder to get clothes from other than Dollmore.
The main complaint about yo clothes is the lack of boy clothes in general (and I'll attest to that, as Charlie's meant to be a tomboy and I have to make most of her clothes), and the lack of "normal kid clothes" - not babyish or frilly lolita outfits.

wow, they sound sturdy! thanks for the information, I do want to avoid maturer looking tinies more for the reason that thier bodies look older, even if I can get the face to look young.

I'll keep the clothes avaliablilty in mind, I am not entirely sure what he will be wearing yet but it's good to know what the peoples experiences are (I always find it hard to find good MSD boy clothes, Seems the guys are not loved until thier old enough to wear fancy suits :D)

I never thought I would have child dolls and now I have four, with another planned in the future! They are all very sturdy and are great travelers.

I lurk at eBay for basic boy clothing for my Yo-sized boys. My girl is a fashion snob and mostly wears Cheerydoll and AnotherSpace.

Fairyland Little Fees are Yo-sized, just a tiny bit shorter/a little more narrow in the shoulders. The Dollzone BBs are also yo-sized and are about the same height. I did a yo-sd/dollzone body comparison if you're interested: http://onnas-baka-gaki.livejournal.com/137252.html

Here is the height comparison of Yo, DZ and FL: http://onnas-baka-gaki.livejournal.com/163393.html

LOTS of companies either have yo-sized dolls or are in the process of making them because we want them.

Soom has them, Leeke has them, Rosen Lied has them, Lati looks like they will eventually have them, Dream of Doll has them, etc.

Just shop around and look at all the adorable kids out there!
